The Free One March 14 - Launching a 2nd Wine Newsletter
New Pro Wine Tips newsletter for wine lovers around the world
Hi, welcome to the Free One
Today I am launching a second wine newsletter. Why?
Living in British Columbia, my initial impulse was to create a newsletter specifically for people in the province to identify value-for-flavour wines, where to purchase them and also to convey tips on getting more enjoyment and understanding out of every glass. So the initial Pro Tips & Wine Bargains in B.C. paid subscription contained both components and was created specifically for B.C. wine drinkers.
As you know, the Pro Tips & Wine Bargains in B.C. newsletter also has a free subscription with free posts containing helpful wine information but the wine tips in the free one are different from but complementary to the Pro Wine Tips in the paid edition. I also made a couple of the paid subscription newsletters available to all subscribers in order to show what was “under the hood” in the paid subscription.
Pro Wine Tips-only newsletter for wine lovers around the world
Though the first newsletter was launched only a couple of months ago, the initial response has been very encouraging not only for the paid subscription containing the Wine Bargains and Pro Wine Tips but for the free subscription containing just the Wine Tips. Folks have subscribed from Seattle, Alberta, Korea, England and Manitoba.
It was clear that wine drinkers outside of B.C. , who though not able to use the Wine Bargains clearly had a great interest in the Pro Wine Tips.
But who needs to see B.C. Wine Bargains if you live outside the province? So, today is the launch of the second newsletter simply called Pro Wine Tips.
The Recap:
There are now two newsletters, Pro Tips & Wine Bargains in B.C. and the new one Pro Wine Tips
Both newsletters have a free subscription option that delivers good general, background wine information on grapes, regions and more. The information in the two free newsletters is identical.
Both newsletters have a paid subscription option. The Pro Tips & Wine Bargains in B.C. paid subscription has my handpicked Wine Bargains choices of value-for-flavour wines available in British Columbia as well as a different series containing more detailed wine information I call Pro Wine Tips.
The Pro Wine Tips in both paid subscriptions is identical.
The Pro Wine Tips paid subscription is simply Pro Tips & Wine Bargains in B.C. minus the Wine Bargains. It is also less expensive at $6.99 per month instead of $8.99. Why pay for information you don’t need?
The Pro Wine Tips in the paid subscriptions are a deeper dive, more fun and include detailed explanations and illustrations on subjects like: understanding how taste works, bettering tasting techniques, whether wine glasses matter, suggested tastings, improving taste memory, cooking with wine and a lot more.

This newsletter if for wine drinkers living in B.C. who would like to learn a little more about wine and find wines to try beyond their “old reliables”. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by the parade of labels at the wine store, find that "really good" bottle at a price and in a style that you like.
Pro Wine Tips Newsletter
This new newsletter is for wine drinkers outside of B.C. who want to learn more about wine in a way that is fun and casual but also informative. If going to the archive, note that newsletters #1 and #4 (normally only for paid subscribers) are also available free right now so you can “look under the hood” .
